Magazine columnist NICOLE keeps her articles hot and heavy, though over the years she’s grown cynical about the idea of true love. When her editor, JACKSON, assigns her an article about romance, Nicole’s idea is to write about the death of it. However, at Jackson’s suggestion, she decides to do a little research by interviewing a lawyer and a therapist. After a series of steamy stories about some of their clients, Nicole learns that romance is alive and well, though it may come in a different package than expected.
